Beta-i Newsletter – startup events

I woke up this morning with the terrible news that both our fish at Beta-i, Michael Phelps and Pope Francis, were tragically killed, in the office room!
The evidence was clear. I could see the footprints marked on the empty chair, the traces of water streaming down the desk, and the fish bowl slightly moved from its original spot.
The fish killer, that insatiable FELINE PREDATOR, did it with its own paws, Filipe!
We now have the cat on the loose, in the Beta-i Hub. Not for long, though… Join us here and help us find this ‘Cat, the Fish Killer’.

But, enough of my Sherlock Holmes stories. We have important announcements to make.
First, it’s not yet christmas, we’re not yet on holidays, but we’re thinking about it. All of this because of our Tourism Day, that will gather some of the top players of the tourism industry such as Turismo Portugal and Pestana Hotels & Resorts. Join us next Tuesday, November 29th. We have only a few tickets left.

Google is also bringing its Android Innovation Day to Lisbon for the first time, this November 29th. To all android developers out there this is an awesome opportunity to find out what Google is up to and how to take advantage of that.
And talking about technological pioneers, Sibs, the Portuguese company who revolutionised payments with products such as Multibanco and Via Verde, is running an accelerator with Beta-i, Sibs PayForward. If you’re into fintech, you should definitely check this out.
Still on Web Summit, we had more than a hundred investors, entrepreneurs and journalists visiting the best startups in Lisbon. Here’s what happened in the first Lisbon Startup Tour!

Oh, and if you missed it, we’ll have a second edition right before the Lisbon Investment Summit, our slightly unexpected and surprisingly informal startup conference, in June. We have just announced our early bird tickets. Click here to find out more.
And to end this newsletter with really great news, Moneytis, a startup from Lisbon Challenge, was just accepted into Y Combinator, one of the best accelerators in the world! Congrats to the whole team.
That’s all for now folks,
Cheers,

From the one and only Almighty Duchess of Content who has been listening to this song and to this album during the whole week. She’s such a hipster…
